There was a turn out of some 500 people who gathered to counter the ALL OUT FOR GAZA rally at Parliament on Wednesday 11 December 2024. It outnumbered the opponents of Israel by at least a hundred. Estimates from our side put the attendance at 500 to 350 in our favor. Media reported 500 for each side but they often get it wrong. The anti-Israel rally used the opportunity to launch a proposed bill through Chloe Swarbrick of the Green Party that would place sanctions on Israel. We pray it goes no further and that good people in Parliament will not allow it to get through.
Our gathering was supported by many groups including For the Protection of Zion, NZ Israel Network, Destiny churches in NZ, Flaxmere Christian Fellowship Hastings, Christians for Israel, Jewish National Fund, Indigenous Coalition for Israel, Israel Institute of NZ, and many others. We were given the northern side of Parliament grounds to rally as opposed to our detractors on the southern side. It was a good placement for us.
